AiRXOS deploys DeTect radar system at Choctaw Ranch Daisy AiRXOS, part of GE Aviation, and a partner in the Choctaw Unmanned Arial System (UAS) Integration Pilot Program (IPP), deployed a Harrier Ground Based Sense and Avoid (GBSAA) radar from DeTect, Inc. to support powerline flight profile development and contingency plan development for abort/landing of Beyond Visual Line-of-sight (BVLOS) flights.
This deployment will also assess Electromagnetic Field (EMF) interference from a 345 KV powerline between the radar, UAS, and small General Aviation (GA) aircraft in the ability of the radar to detect and track the UAS and GA aircraft. The data collected will support BVLOS flights for infrastructure inspection and for general airspace monitoring. The DeTect radar has a 20 mile detection range for GA aircraft and 3 mile detection range for small UAS.
